Fire and Ice by Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

  1. Robert Frost is one of my favorites… you have great taste

    thanks for following!

    • Frost was the first poet I ever liked. Back when I thought poetry was boring and didn’t read it or particularly enjoy it. Times have changed, but I still love Frost.

      • poetry should be discovered and never taught! i’m glad you discovered Frost… when the time was right…

  2. Just to say, this reminds me of the Ancient Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, who said that “everything is in flux” and “you cannot step in the same river twice”.

Constant change and entropy until all becomes fire is what he believed.
