As always, TTT is hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic: top ten classics. I’m defining a classic as a book first published more than fifty years ago.

1. 1984

2. East of Eden

3. Lolita

4. Wuthering Heights

5. Frankenstein

6. The Picture of Dorian Grey

7. The Idiot

8. To Kill a Mockingbird

9. Native Son

10. Invisible Man

Bonus:

11. Anna Karenina

12. The Jungle

  1. Love these top ten lists, this is one of the best I’ve seen when it comes to classics. I never came across ‘The Idiot’ before I’m definitely going to check it out. Oscar Wilde always seems to slip through the gaps in these lists!

    • Thank you! I went through a period where I read a lot of classics…making this list reminded me that many of my copies of these books have gone missing 😦
