But once on the island, Sophie and Jim encounter more than they bargained for, including a charming, brilliant Vitro named Nicholas and an innocent, newly awoken one named Lux.
In a race for their lives, Sophie and Jim are about to discover what happens when science stretches too far beyond its reach.
After gobbling up Origin when I read it a few months ago, I was eager to dive into Vitro, book two in the series. Though it should be noted that I don’t think it matters at all if you read Vitro before Origin.
Vitro gives us all new characters, an all new setting, and an all new mystery with the same shadowy overlords: Corpus.
Vitro was as fantastical, fun, and afternoon-sucking as Origin. Once again we get a female lead (Sophie) with a male love interest (Jim). But the romantic elements in Origin get dramatically overshadowed by the events on Skin Island.
Peeking ahead at the third book, Kalahari, it seems we’re in for new characters on a new adventure… Probably also the work of Corpus.
I hope these books keep rolling in, I don’t want to let go of this not-series yet!
