This is a book I’ve been wanting to read for awhile, but I finally picked it up for super cheap on Kindle edition.
I didn’t really read the description before I started reading it so I was pretty surprised with the turn it took. This was a super enjoyable read, very fast-paced and exciting.
I felt really bad for Mila for most of the book. She starts off feeling like an outsider and as the novel progresses, she gets more and more alone. She also goes through some pretty horrifying stuff as she goes on the run. And this is the only first book in the trilogy.
Trying to decide now if I want to buy the next one immediately so I can keep reading or cross my fingers that it, too, goes on sale. I was also able to scoop up the origin short story for this trilogy for free! The third book isn’t out yet, so like The 5th Wave, it’s a great time to become a fan!
Also, I was reading the acknowledgements (something I almost never do) and apparently Debra Driza is friends with Kathleen Peacock (Hemlock, Thornhill, and Willowgrove) and a bunch of other YA writers. I want to join their writers club…please?
