If I worked from home, I would definitely want my office to include a dedicated reading space. Preferably a window seat. Not only would I want the option (or temptation) to break up the work day with a little reading, but let’s be honest: have laptop, will travel. For most of us, we don’t really need a desk to do our work. Okay, maybe my back would not be happy with me working all day, every day curled up in a window seat, but once in awhile? Hell yes!
It’s also incredibly space-efficient to enclose the bookshelves and the window seat within the office to create a multi-use space. Out in California where space (including office space) comes at a premium, it just makes sense to create these kind of hardworking rooms within your home.
