Featured Poem: Beauty

By Stephen Berg

To be so completely here you forget
yourself did I read that somewhere am I
here without me just as I was before
when only stars and only sea and only
stray cryptographs and only light
gushing from its unknown source spoke
only the mask of sky

silent tree origin of hands
eyes genitalia void of myself seed
of the universe—it is not me hearing this
hymn but let it come and let
whoever was given it hear touch be
as one in loving is
shattered by waves of tenderness
